A transport-level error has occurred when sending the.....

Postby Impal3r on Tue Jun 16, 2009 3:08 pm

When i have a query window open In SSMS and I step away for a while and then I run the query I get the following error

A transport-level error has occurred when sending the request to the server

what I do then is disconnect from the server, connect again and then I can open anew query window to run the query again. This seems tedious and not really productive. Is there a better way to get around this?

I've gotten the same error before. This usually happens (to me) when the sql server service is re-started. Ex: Open a query window, restart the service on the server, attempt to run the query locally. When this happens, I usually just run the query a second time, and it works. I don't guarantee this will always work, but it does for me.
