Don't see how

Postby Naomi on Thu Oct 22, 2009 12:47 am

Can I record a macro in Word 2007?

I need to find a syntax for finding and replacing a text in the Word Header section.

But how to get Tools menu displayed? All I see is a ribbon on top with only a few menu options.

There should be a menu row above the ribbon. Home/Insert/Page Layout/References/Mailings/Review/View. Click the "View" menu. The ribbon bar should change. The major groupings of ribbons should be "Document Views", "Show/Hide","Zoom", "Window", "Macros".

Because.... you know... the "view" ribbon bar is a great place to put macros, right?

I guess it's not really a menu row above the ribbons. It would probably be better described as tab headers. Oh well. I really dislike the ribbon. I bet someone could make a ton of money by creating an add-in for word the replicates the old menu structure. I used to know how to use word. Now I just stumble around until I get a document that kinda looks the way I want.

I agree. I feel completely lost with new Word interface.

That's interesting. Makes sense as I would have seen "ID" as a keyword but not something I would have considered an issue up front.
